Privacy policy

How uksolarcalc.co.uk handles your personal data, in line with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

Last updated: 14 September 2026

The short version

In plain English: uksolarcalc.co.uk is a free calculator site. The calculators on this website run entirely in your browser — we do not see, store, or transmit the numbers you enter (your region, bill, system size, etc.). We do not currently collect any personal data. There is no contact or quote form on this site, and we set no cookies for analytics or advertising. We measure traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare states uses no cookies or client-side state. Full details are in our cookie policy.

1. Who we are

The website at uksolarcalc.co.uk ("we", "us", "our") is operated by an independent publisher. We are the data controller for the personal data we collect through this site.

If you have any question about this policy or your data, email [email protected].

2. What data we collect

2.1 Calculator inputs — not collected

All of our calculators run as client-side JavaScript. The values you enter (region, bill, system size, tariff) are processed by your browser only and are never sent to our servers. We have no access to these inputs and do not store them.

2.2 Lead form data — not yet active

There is currently no form on this website and we do not collect lead data. We plan to offer an installer quote service; when it launches we will publish the launch date here and this section will apply from that date. The form will then collect:

That data will be used so we can pass your enquiry to one or more installers in our network. We do not store payment data — we will never see your card details.

2.3 Analytics and advertising data

Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics (provided by Cloudflare, Inc.) to measure traffic to this site in aggregate. Cloudflare states: “Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use any client-side state, such as cookies or localStorage, to collect usage metrics. We also don’t ‘fingerprint’ individuals via their IP address, User Agent string, or any other data for the purpose of displaying analytics.” (Source: Cloudflare, “Web Analytics — Privacy first”, verified 14 September 2026.) It therefore requires no consent under PECR. Because this site is proxied through Cloudflare, Cloudflare also processes standard request metadata (for example IP address, user agent, requested URL) at its edge as our CDN and security provider; that processing is covered by legitimate interests — see section 3.

Advertising — not yet active. We have verified this site with Google AdSense, but no advertising is displayed on this site today and no advertising cookies are set. Before any advertising is enabled we will first deploy a Google-certified consent management platform and update this policy and our cookie policy. Until then no consent is requested, and none is required.

No other tracking. We do not use Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager, advertising pixels, or session-replay tools. Full details are in our cookie policy.

3. Lawful basis for processing (UK GDPR Article 6)

4. How we use your data

We do not use your personal data to make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

5. Who we share your data with

5.1 Installer partners

No lead data is shared today, because the quote service is not yet live. Once it launches, contact details submitted through the quote form will be passed to up to three MCS-certified installers in your region. Each installer is an independent data controller for the data once they receive it. We do not control how they use it — please review their privacy policies.

5.2 Service providers

5.3 Legal disclosure

We may disclose data where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. International transfers

Some service providers (notably Google) may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, transfers are protected by UK International Data Transfer Addenda, UK Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK-US Data Bridge, in line with UK GDPR Chapter V.
